Maybelline Fit Me Range

I’m probably one of the last people to try the Maybeline Fit Me Range, i’ve heard so many people talking about at least one of the products at some point and honestly I don’t really have an answer as to why it’s taken me so long soooo, my bad I guess. Better late than never I suppose and of course I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the products I bought so lets just jump right into it.

I decided to try the Fit Me foundation and concealer and let’s face it, I just couldn’t get one without the other. I’ll start with the foundation, to begin I just want to say that trying to find a shade to match my skin tone was a bit of a job, when it comes to foundation I need one with a pink undertone due to my oh so annoying rosy cheeks and complexion and a lot of the foundations on my end of the shade range were very yellow toned and just being real here, I can not pull off a yellow toned foundation, like seriously I just look ill. After a hell of a lot of swatching and testing I managed to find number 102 which looked like it just might do the trick. Just gonna give myself a round of applause and a pat on the back because ya girl nailed the colour match, in fact it was perfect which I was super pleased about. I applied the foundation using a brush and it was so easy to apply to my face and blended in really well, at this point I didn’t have a bad word to say about the product. The coverage is definitely a light-medium coverage depending how much product you use which is fine with me as I go for a medium coverage anyway so just continued to add until I was happy with the finish. If you know me then you’ll know I am all about that matte look but the Fit Me foundation I would say is more on the dewy spectrum, I mean I don’t mind a little bit of dew but when it just looks like your face is a pan of chip oil, I put my foot down luckily this isn’t that bad. So everything looks good here yeah? Well … as time went on and i’m not even talking hours i’m talking like half an hour I started to notice the coverage was fading, if that’s even a thing, all I can describe it as is as if my skin was just soaking up the foundation, it just didn’t even look like I had the same amount of product on that I originally applied … weird I know! I think what really got me was that all I could see were my rosy cheeks which had been covered at application but nope, they were coming through with a vengeance and I can’t even tell you how much I can’t stand that. So overall I went from rating this foundation a nine to a really poor four which you know, for a foundation we don’t want.

Moving on to the concealer, this was the product I had heard the most about especially comparing it to the Nars Creamy Concealer so I couldn’t wait to swipe this all over my under-eye and you know what … it did not disappoint! I got the light shade which let me tell you is one heck of a brightener, I mean you could have had three hours sleep and this thing will make you look like you’ve had the best sleep of your life. The consistency of the product is really creamy which allows it to just glide under your eye, i’m talking figure skaters on ice gliding. Blending, well let me tell you this blends like an absolute dream, there’s none of that creasing business or clumping, it’s honestly sheer perfection and everything you would want from a concealer.

I would definitely recommend the concealer to anyone who loves a bright under eye or just concealer in general, I just think everyone should have one of these bad boys in their make up bag. As for the foundation I don’t think I would actually recommend it to anyone, is that too harsh? Okay maybe I would recommend it to make-up beginners like school kids who just want a little bit of coverage.
