Testing Out New Superdrug Makeup

Hey you lovely lot, so today I wanted to share with you guys a few new makeup products that I picked up from Superdrug about two weeks ago. Ain’t gonna lie there’s only like four products here because we all know your girl is broke, but nevertheless I wanted to give you all my opinion on them.

It’s definitely been a minute since I bought myself some new makeup bits and bobs so testing these out has been kind of exciting … I know, I’m a saddo but I’m elderly now so leave me too it!

MUA Pro/Base Long Wear Matte Foundation – Shade 110 – £5

So the first product I bought was this MUA foundation and if I’m honest I definitely wouldn’t naturally think of buying a foundation from this brand, not because there’s anything wrong with it but because I don’t think I’ve ever bought any of their products before. However, after watching one of Jordan Lipscome’s videos where she raves about this little beauty, I thought I would give it a try and let me tell you I bloody love it! Honesty I kinda wish I would have bought it sooner, the coverage is amazing and definitely does what it says on the tin, it’s long wearing, durable and gives a perfect matte finish, which is what I look for in a foundation. The only issue (but not really) is that there’s no pump and the applicator is like a little spatula but I just work with it and blend with a sponge, and a little definitely goes a long way with this and it’s super cheap!

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Hydrate – Shade C1 – £7

Okay, so of course I had to give this little baby a try, I adored their Conceal & Define range so really wanted to give this a go. I’m sure by the time this post goes up you’ll have read or watched tonnes of reviews about it but I still wanna let you know what I thought. Firstly I think I maybe should have gone one shade darker because this was super light under my eyes, I assumed because I used C1 in the previous concealer that it would be the same but it definitely didn’t look the same shade when applied, but I think if I just use a small amount then fingers crossed it should be fine. In terms of consistency I would say this is full coverage as it’s pretty thick and kinda creamy, again a little does go a long way so I wouldn’t go crazy when applying … unless you like that of course. I mean honestly, I wasn’t too mad about it, I still prefer their conceal & define range over this but that’s just me.

MUA Bronzed Perfection Matte – Sunset Tan – £4

I know, two MUA products, who am I? So I never actually intended on picking up a bronzer but while browsing something just came over me and I decided, ‘why the heck not?’ It was a toss up between this and a Makeup Revolution one but they looked exactly the same and this was £1 cheaper so here we are … what can I say! Anywho, I’ve been kinda trying to get into contouring and bronzing because I only just tend to contour with powders, I didn’t really see the need to add a bronzer to the equation but, after watching tutorials online, a lot of people tend to do both so I thought I would give it a shot. First of all I love the warm tone of this bronzer, as a naturally pale gal anything that can transform me from Pale Gale to Glow Flow is definitely appreciated. I will say that if you’re using this on it’s own without any contour underneath then you may have to spend some time building it up because it’s not very pigmented which is a bit annoying, but if you’re simply layering over contour then this works really well.

Makeup Revolution Precise Brow Pencil – Shade Dark Brown – £4

I’ve been after a new brow pencil for a while because quite frankly I was getting bored of using my Maybelline Brow Satin, which if you read any of my makeup posts will know I use it in every look. I also wanted to find another brow product with a thinner tip like a Soap and Glory one I used to use a long time ago, I feel like I can work with thinner ones better and the end result looks less blocky (if that even makes any sense). Hands down this is a fantastic product, my brows are so much more natural looking when I use this and truthfully that makes me feel more confident … so strange the little things that can do this! It’s super easy to work with and the end doesn’t break off like some products do, I would definitely say this was probably my favourite product from this little haul, very close with the foundation though!

So that’s kind of it for this little ‘testing new makeup’ post, I really hope you’ve enjoyed it, I know there’s not much here but I hope what I have gave you was insightful and enjoyable.
